Onion (scientific name: Allium cepa), also known as bulb onion, round onion, or common onion, is a common plant in the Amaryllidaceae family and belongs to the genus Allium. In Persian and the Uyghur language spoken in the Xinjiang region, it is referred to as "Piyaz" (皮芽子).
